Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book a spa session?

Bookings can be made up to a year in advance.

Please contact us by email emma@sandpiperpoolandspa.co.uk letting us know how many people the booking is for and how many hours you are looking for.  We can then check our availability for the dates you would like to book.  Once you have confirmed the date you would like, we will email confirmation of your booking.  A 50% deposit is then payable.  This can either be paid over the phone by card or by online banking (full details will be on your booking confirmation email).

Is the spa completely private?
The spa is completely private. On arrival you are given a tour around the spa and then left to enjoy your spa time in complete privacy.

If you are booked for an all day spa session, we will come into the spa at an agreed time to bring your lunch, clean the coffee machine and refreshment area and restock anything that needs restocking.  We will only enter the lounge, so if you would prefer not to be seen at this time, please spend this time relaxing in any other areas of the spa.

Who hires Sandpiper Spa?

Sandpiper is open to everybody over the age of 13 (all guests under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. 1 adult per 2 under 18's).  Booking must be made by an adult.

How do I book treatments?

Once you have made your spa booking, please take a look at our treatments page, to see which treatments you would like to have. Then email your treatment choices and we will arrange for these to be booked in for you.

 

Do I have to pay a deposit?

Yes, a 50% deposit is payable when you book (or within 48hrs of booking).  Your deposit is not refundable should you cancel your booking.

Do you charge VAT?

We are a VAT registered business (Registration number: GB 343 9972 60).  All prices shown on the website are inclusive of VAT.

What if I need to cancel my booking?

14 - 30 days - we will reschedule your booking with no loss of deposit.  Cancellation will result in the loss of your deposit.

7 – 14 days -  Loss of deposit and 50% of final balance payable per person
7 days – Loss of deposit and full balance payable

Can I book the swimming pool on its own?

No, we only take bookings for private spa hire.  The swimming pool is included in your spa hire package, but can't be hired out on its own.

Can I hire the spa for 1 or 2 hours?

The spa can be booked for a minimum of 3 hours. We have morning, afternoon, evening and all-day spa packages available.  Our all day packages include a buffet lunch or tea.

 

Does a 6, 7 or 8 hour session have to start in the morning?

Your 6, 7 or 8 hour spa session can start at any time you prefer.  You may prefer to start in the morning and have an included buffet lunch, or your session could start in the afternoon and go into the evening with a buffet tea included.

Do you offer discounts?

Group bookings of 4 - 8 people will currently get a 30% discount.

5% Eco discount - bring your own robe/towels/spa slippers

5% off 6, 7 & 8 hour all day bookings if you bring your own food. Refreshments will still be provided.

What do we do when we arrive?

Once you have parked on the driveway we will come and open the gate and show you to the spa.

​

Will anybody be watching?

No, when you book the spa, it is just you and your guests.  Because it is unsupervised you are responsible for your own safety.  If at anytime you need us we can be contacted by phone either by text or call.  Under 18's must be supervised at all times.

Can we stay overnight?

Unfortunately we are unable to provide overnight stays.  There are some lovely hotels and bed and breakfast accommodations nearby, some of which are listed on our web page 'Places to stay'.

Can we book for longer than 8 hours?

If you would like to book for longer than 8 hours, please contact us, letting us know how many hours you would like and we can provide you with prices.

Can I book treatments?

We have a range of pampering treatments available that are provided by Vicky and her therapists from My Blissful Retreats. Please see our Treatments page for more information.

Our products are all natural, organic and ethically sourced using essential oils, have no toxic ingredients and are not tested on animals

Can I use my mobile phone and is wifi available?

As the spa is for your exclusive use, please feel free to use your mobile.  Free wifi is available for your use.

​

Can we arrive early so we can get changed before our session?

If this is your first time visiting the spa, please feel free to arrive 15 minutes early. This will give us plenty of time to show you around the spa. 

​

Do you supply towels or swimming costumes?

We supply towels, robes & slippers. We don't provide swimwear. We try to encourage the use of your own spa slippers or flipflops to help the environment, as ours are disposable. 

There is a 5% Eco discount available if you prefer to bring your own robe/towels/slippers

Do you have extra large robes?

We have two sizes of larger robes. Our XXL robes fit up to a size 26 and our XXXXL robes fit up to a size 38. Please request these prior to your arrival.

Can I wear my own robe/onesie/flipflops?

Because you have the spa to yourselves, we want you to be comfortable.  We are happy for you to wear whatever you are most comfortable in.  Our spa slippers are disposable, so we encourage anybody to bring their own slippers or flip-flops to help the environment.  Please ensure that any slippers or flipflops are clean.

There is a 5% Eco discount if you choose to bring your own robes/towels/slippers.

Do you have showers?

The changing room has a shower and there are also hairdryers and straighteners for your use.

Shampoo, conditioner, body washes and lotions etc are also available for your use.

​

What products do you provide?

We provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotion, cleanser, toner, moisturiser, hand wash and hand lotion. 

Face and body lotion products provided for your use in the spa are made by local company Boxworth Botanicals, who have created an exclusive range of products for men and ladies for our spa, using natural products and essential oils.

Our shower products are Cole & Lewis, these include a body wash, shampoo and conditioner.  

All of our products have no toxic ingredients and are not tested on animals.

Can I just turn up at anytime for a spa session or do I need to book?

It is essential to book your spa session, otherwise you will probably have a wasted journey as the spa will already be in use.

​

Is the maximum number 8?

Yes, we only take bookings for up to 8 people.

​

Will my booking price be reduced if any of the facilities are closed?

No. We always try to ensure that all of our facilities are open during your spa session, but on the rare occasion ie mechanical breakdown, when we have to close a facility there will be no reduction in the cost of your spa session.

Can we bring our own food and drinks?

You are welcome to bring your own food and drinks (including alcohol), but no food or breakables can be taken into the wet areas of the spa.

Complimentary hot and cold drinks are available for you to help yourselves too, along with fresh fruit and biscuits..

A finger buffet lunch or tea is included for 6, 7 and 8 hour bookings.  You are welcome to book a buffet for shorter spa sessions @ £25 per person, or morning/afternoon tea @ £20 per person.

For our 6, 7 & 8 hour bookings, there is a 5% discount if you bring your own food. 

There is a cake knife, corkscrew and chopping board available for your use if required.

Can we bring alcohol or other drinks?

Yes, you are welcome to bring your own drinks with you, including alcohol.  

We supply fruit juice, flavoured still and sparkling water, filtered water and fresh bean to cup coffee and a tea selection, which are all available throughout your spa time.  We are unable to provide alcohol.

​

Can we bring decorations?

You are welcome to bring decorations, but we ask that you don't bring confetti balloons or decorations that need to be stuck or pinned.

​

Are children or babies allowed?

The minimum age is 13 and anybody under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. 1 adult per 2 under 18s.
 
Can I bring my pet (dog, cat, hamster, rabbit etc)
?

No animals are permitted at Sandpiper Pool and Spa.

Please note that we do have a cat here.  While you may not see them at all, it is possible.  The cat will never be in the spa itself, but you may see her in the garden.

Can I smoke at the spa?

There is a smoking area in the spa garden where you may smoke.  There is no smoking inside the spa building.

​

Can we bring our own pool toys?

There are woggles and floats here at the pool.  Any inflatable toys and swim aids that you bring with you must be taken home again.  Mermaids are welcome.

​

Can I take photos and videos?
As you have the spa to yourselves, you are welcome to take photos and videos and share on your social media.

 

Why does it say 'no diving, jumping or bombing' in the pool?
Because of the design of the pool, it is not safe to do any of the above.  All around the edge is just 3ft deep.

Can I just book for a treatment without hiring the spa?

No.  Treatments are only available during your spa time and must be pre-booked.

 

Does the time we book include getting changed?
Yes, your time includes getting changed.  We ask that you are ready to leave promptly, this ensures that we have time to prepare the spa for the next users.
